Between October 1, 2007 and September 30, 2008, Caltrans anticipates receiving in excess of $3 billion of federal transportation funding and $3.5 billion in State funding. You are encouraged to attend and learn first-hand, from an expert team of training consultants, who intimately understand Caltrans and local agencies' bidding and award processes as current and former contractors and business owners.

These courses are designed to give attendees a general understanding of accounting and financial issues relevant to small business. This knowledge will provide attendees with an understanding of how to best manage their business' financials, how to manage cash flow and growing capital for future success.

Course 1: Understanding Financial Statements

Attendees will understand:

  • Basic accounting principles
  • How to read and understand a Financial Statement beyond the numbers
  • What Financial Statements tell you about the health of your business
